  • NOTE - The following letter was sent by Bob Jericho on behalf of Kwajalein Youth Alliance:

    To the People of Kwajalein

The Kwajalein Youth Alliance is indeed saddened to learn of the passing of our Mayor, Wilmer Bolkeim. We share with the friends and family of Mayor Bolkeim this moment of grief and loss. More than dear friend, he was considered by youth the world over as one of the most well-respected and influential leaders on Kwajalein.

Mayor Bolkeim’s genuine concerns for the people of Kwajalein, his humble upbringing by a great family, his belief in keeping the Marshallese culture/tradition, his selfless sense of duty with during his tenure as Mayor, his devotion to the people working under this leadership, will forever mark him as one of the most outstanding leaders in the hearts and minds of the Kwajalein Atoll community.

For those of us who have had the privilege of knowing Mayor Bolkeim, lets make sure to keep his memory alive by continuing to remember him through his indefinite list of accomplishments, his many varied talents, and his warm friendship to each and every common person that came his way. I recall the many occasions I met Mayor Bolkeim during his time in office and was always impressed with the many ideas he had about ways to improve the standard of living on Kwajalein. KYA joins many youth who admire Mayor Bolkeim for having the foresight of a better future for our generation.
For the contributions he made to the people of Kwajalein, he deserves our utmost praise and gratitude.

The Kwajalein Youth Alliance wishes to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family of Mayor Bolkeim during this most trying time. You will always be in our prayers.

May God continue to bless the people of Kwajalein

    Bob Jericho
