    About the Committee:
Realizing significant constraints and difficulties experienced by both parish schools in their most recent school years, the Queen of Peace Parish Executive Council initiated a resolution to create a committee/task force to assist and support both its parish schools undertake extensive measures to alleviate both schools from all privations and ultimately restore both schools’ standings to sound and sustainable status. After a lengthy and sluggish start, the Queen of Peace Schools, then director, Jelton Anjain, requested and got the green light from the Parish Executive Council to enact and take over control of committee-task force and appointed himself chairman. The title and name of the task force has been changed to QPS Alumni Affairs Campaign and Fundraising Coordinating committee. The role of the committee is to assist both schools raise funds for immediate/emergency needs and assist schools in a much broader and long-term goal to create and maintain an Endowment Fund for each school which the chairman and fellow committee members hope all will be realized (remittances from alumni, grant awards, etc) on the “Parish FEAST DAY” and the 30th Anniversary of the Schools on September 8th, 2009 in which a Reunion Party for all Alumni (from 1st graduating class to the graduating class of 2009 from both schools) all friends of the schools (donors, benefactors, former faculty and staff, alumni families and friends) is still being planned.
Chairman Anjain convened the committee’s first ever meeting on July 08, 2008. The individuals invited to attend (chairman invites more willing alumni to join the committee in the second committee meeting that has been scheduled for 7:30 PM in the evening at the Queen of Peace Elementary School Library on 14th July 2008, Monday) and participate in the meeting were: Mr. Anjo Kabua, Mr. Harrison Lakjohn, Mr. Harry Riedel, Gary Kakki Elaisha, Ms. Ramanty Chong-Gum, Ms. Pauline Debrum, and committee appointed secretary, Mrs. Heltine J. Ned (more were invited to attend but the number that showed up was declared a quorum for the meeting to proceed).
Aim and function of the committee according to the chairman: To help raise money/school funds via multiple means of fundraising efforts (Alumni Pledges and donations, grant writing to grant/aid sources, soliciting donations/contributions from local businesses & abroad, etc) exerted by the committee or committee appointed groups/individuals (class, schools’ organizations, clubs, etc.).
Fundraising Methods as discussed and classified by the committee:
Pledge(s): soliciting alumni from both schools to make individual monetary pledges via a set monthly donation pledge that shouldn’t be less than $ 5.00/month or exceed $ 50.00/month or an annual donation pledge in which each alumnus is willing to pledge/give
Class Pledge/Kabudget: members of each class work together as a group to raise a “class-set-pledged” amount ($ 2,500 or more) to raise for its alma mater by means of selling plate-lunches or whatever kind of fundraising undertaking the class collective decides to do.
    Committee Meeting
