  • Never Daunted..
  • My sincere and cordial sympathy to SSG Sam family. My heart and prayers are with you. Rest In Peace Lobai. I miss you.
  • E_Kutak - Yes, the U.S. Government paid for everything!

I'm in the service and sure it is worth it. Most of us Rimajols in the service do this for the Marshall Islands and many other reasons.

The U.S. is doing the same thing they did in the Marshall Islands many many years ago when they drove the Japanese troops out of the Islands. I doubt they'll do a nuclear test on Iraqi soil ako yeah..I say it is the same reason =)

Sam was a great friend of mine and it is a great loss for many of people who knew the guy. So yeah..it is what it is...

  • Hey Preston,

I wouldn't waste my time replying to ignorant people. People like E_Kutak just don't get it and never will. They don't know a thing about the military and how it takes care of its people, to include family member.

    E_Kutak,

More rimajol have been killed on the US road than those serving in the military. Now tell me, did the civilian employers for the ones killed on the road compensate the surviving families? Did the civilian employers take care of the funeral arrangements? I highly doubt it. I can tell you as a soldier that the military does all of the above. Now do us a favor and not disrespect SGT Sam's sacrifice anymore.
  • Naan in buromij woj ibben bamle in an SGT Sam. Will Never Forget.

Met you and Neamon at Balad 2006.

    God Bless
  • I am 100% certain that Sgt Sam's family will get the exact same level of assistance and support from the US military (and absolutely not just the "official" assistance but lots of assistance from fellow soldiers and their family members) as would any fallen US soldier receive from anywhere.

“I hope the signing of the LUA (Land Use Agreement) allows the Government of the Marshall Islands more time to focus on the biggest issues it faces – how to raise the level of education and health of the Marshallese people and how to create an economy that will be stable after direct US funding ends in 2023.”
US Ambassador to the Marshall Islands Martha Campbell, as quoted by MI Journal, 13 May 2011, pg 4
  • The following quote is a good answer to E_Kutak:

"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

    By George Orwell
  • I hope another Concert or other activities by Jessica Langistoa and her MIJE Clup will support Sam Family.
  • I'm not sure it this helps E_Kutak, but my brother Henty Maika who served in Korea was found dead last week. So far, Army has been amazing in all support in whatever ways.

Thanks to all for prayers and words of encouragement.

SGT Sam - Prayers to the family and good journey to you. Thanks for serving!
