First International Day Against Nuclear Tests and Marshall Islands Nuke Legacy:
I am sure she has never been there. People like this--who make wild, untrue statements about Bikini and the situation there--do a lot of damage to the Marshall Islands and its victims while trying to "help."

Although the Marshalls are at ground zero for this "nuclear testing" dialog and protest, it continues to be a challenge to get the right info out there.
This shows the need reply to misinformation as often as possible.
BikiniJack, maybe you could write a response to her and post it here.

Beautiful as it sounds Bikini's beauty can only be enjoyed by the ghosts of their ancesters as its flora and fauna may be highly radioactive to consume to enjoy phsyically. Annika, don't mininform the world. Go take a swim at the atoll's beautiful lagoon with a bikini. -

You are correct. The fauna has changed. Now our fauna looks like Godzilla. I saw it in the movie.

Coconuts contaminated with radiation = change in flora
Nurse shark missing a dorsal fin = change in fauna
I do not think the Doctor was to far off in her observations. -

What she said was the flora and fauna, i.e., the ecosystem, have "completely changed" and that they "look totally different" now. These observations are far from the truth.
I have seen nurse sharks on Bikini with the dorsal fins. Radiation does not change how a coconut "looks," etc. No laRon, she was far from the truth and if you read her letter in response she apologizes for it.
My tact since working for Bikini is to always nip the Jules Verne Science Fiction observations in the bud. You would not believe what people have written about Bikini and the Marshalls in general over the years when it comes to the radiation issues. It is not helpful.

Jack was the Doctor so far off in her observation ?? And why is Bikini being singled out when plenty atoll where affected by those blasts ?
Have you seen Bako without the rear dorsal?? Would you eat the coconut on Bikini in abundance like Rimajol?? I think not . It is a scientific fact this occurs within Bikini.
Why this occurs is still unexplainable but I’m sure as you like to remind us in abundance it has something to do with Nuclear Testing.
Jack with all respect I’m on your side my Family is Utrikese but I feel this is a petty subject and the Bikinian , Utrikese, Rongalapese, Enewetakese people whom are Rimajolese have bigger issues to be concerned about.
Exhaust that energy in fixing a corrupt government.
Jack you are a smart man why your primary focus is on Bikinians is understandable, I too would defend my family to the death, but it is time to start looking at the bigger picture !
Unless you have given up on Rimajolese people in a whole????
