Cabinet approves $3 million in yearly support to CMI  Bottom

  • CMI has submitted in its latest WASC Follow-Up Reports, certified on March 7, 2012, transmitted to the ACCJC for Commission receipt electronically and in hard copy form on March 9, 2012.

    reportIn response to the March 2011 Special Visit Team’s conclusions and ACCJC June 30, 2011 Action Letter Recommendation 4, CMI’s Board of Regents and permanent College President worked closely with the members of the newly elected and constituted Republic of the Marshall Islands’ Cabinet to agree on a new five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The key terms of this MOU, which was approved by the RMI’s new government on March 5, 2012, document:
    (1) The RMI’s Commitment to Provide Operational Support for CMI for Fiscal Year 2013
    through Fiscal Year 2016;
    (2) CMI’s Commitment to Maintain Accreditation; and
    (3) CMI’s Commitment to Maintain Compliance with Grants Terms and Conditions.


    In the appendix of the report there is a copy of the new MOU for RMI gov contributions to CMI.

    SUBJECT: Finance MOU with the College of the Marshall Islands

    At its meeting on March 5, 2012, the Cabinet:

    approved and authorized the funding of the Memorandum of Understanding with the College of the Marshall Islands appropriated at $3M per annum, commencing fiscal year 2013 until 2017, in support of ascertaining and maintaining WASC Accreditation.
