The Department of Energy (DOE) invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons to serve as whole body counting technicians working under the auspices of the DOE’s Marshall Islands Program.

Potential  openings are available for a Program Coordinator as well as entry level technicians.

Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing the logistical and administrative needs of the program within the Marshall Islands, and contribute to and oversee operations performed at each of our whole body counting facilities in Marshall Islands. He/she must be assertive and reliable. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring staff performance and generally helping improve the quality of services provided under the DOE medical and radiological monitoring programs. The successful applicant is expected to have good written and verbal communication skills in both Marshallese and English, strong administrative and organizational skills, and demonstrated experience using computers. Relevant tertiary education and experience working in a multicultural environment will be highly regarded.
 
Salary package commensurate with education and previous work experience will be negotiated with successful applicant.

Technicians, Entry Level
Entry level technicians will be responsible for conducting Whole Body Counting measurements at our facility on Majuro and be willing and able to travel to other sites on short notice, and potentially be prepared to relocate to Rongelap in support of the resettlement program.  Technicians will have opportunity to receive training at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California.  Successful applicants should hold a high school diploma, and are expected to write and converse effectively in English and Marshallese.  Some computer experience is essential.
 
Salary package commensurate with education and experience will be negotiated with successful applicant(s).
