The event, to be held at 5 p.m. at the Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa, seeks to educate students and the community about the tragic legacy of the U.S. nuclear testing program and to organize students to become an active force for justice in Oceania.
Event Cosponsors include HauMANA, Marianas Club, Center for Hawaiian Studies, Center for Pacific Island Studies, Ethnic Studies Department, and Native Hawaiian Student Services.
We would be honored if you could attend our event. In particular we wish to invite survivors of the nuclear testing, if they would like, to share their experiences and their hopes for justice.
Oceania Rising brings together members come from Hawaii, Mariana Islands, Okinawa, Tonga, Tahiti, and the Marshall Islands. Our purpose is to build awareness about issues of peace and justice in the Pacific, and to organize to bring about justice for our peoples through joining together in a spirit of solidarity.
If you have any questions or need assistance to attend, please feel free to contact us. See Oceania Rising Facebook page
