During a presentation of credential ceremony at the Cabinet conference room Thursday, President Christopher J. Loeak accepted the Letter of Credence of French Ambassador Gilles Garachon. The special ceremony was witnessed by members of the Cabinet, government officials, and the Honorary Consul of France.
President Loeak congratulated Ambassador Garachon on his new post and wished him a successful tour of duty as Ambassador to the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The accreditation of Ambassador Garachon is greatly welcomed as it is certain to continue to enhance and deepen relations said President Loeak.
Ambassador Garachon conveyed on behalf of President Francois Hollande, the Prime Minister, and the people of the French Republic, greetings and best wishes for progress and prosperity to President Loeak, the Government and people of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. He expressed his aspirations to build stronger relations to serve the mutual benefits of both countries.
Ambassador Garachon is stationed in Manila, Philippines, and is the fourth Ambassador accredited to the Republic of the Marshall Islands since the establishment of diplomatic ties on February 19, 1993.
