Alele is a small delicately woven bag. In former times the first woman of a household would have one and keep in there all the family heirlooms, such as small tools, charms to protect the family members from any harm, medicine, etc.The Alele Museum has the same purpose, it safeguards the valuables of the Marshallese people.
