Marshall Islands: ROC (Taiwan) Delivers 1st Quarter of 2010 Annual Grant

Ambassador Bruce J.D. Linghu of the Republic of China (Taiwan) presented a check in the amount of TWO MILLION AND SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND US DOLLARS (US$2,750,000.00) to Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Minister of Foreign Affairs John M. Silk and Minister of Finance Jack Ading on February 24, 2010. Subject: 1st Quarter of 2010 ROC (Taiwan) Annual Grant

The donation ceremony, held at 9:00 a.m. the Meeting Room of the RMI Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was also witnessed by staff of the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy and other RMI officials.

The said amount is the first quarter of Year 2010 Annual Grant from the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the RMI Government. The People and Government of the ROC (Taiwan) along with its Embassy in Majuro sincerely wish the above-mentioned Grant could contribute to the welfare of Marshallese People and the prioritized projects of the RMI Government. The said prioritized projects of the RMI Government are as follows:

(11) Marshall Islands Shipping Corporation Ship Repairs (US$18,750.00)

(12) National Energy Support Account (US$238,500.00)

(13) RMI Overseas Renovation (US$33,447.50)
