Special Taiwan Medical Mobile Mission Arrives in Marshall Islands this Week
A Special Taiwan Medical Mobile Mission of Ophthalmology is scheduled to arrive in Majuro, capital of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), on March 10, 2010, and scheduled to depart for Taipei on March 27.
The Mission, sponsored by R.O.C. Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) and organized by Taipei Municipal Wan-Fan Hospital, is working with RMI Ministry of Health as well as Majuro Hospital.
Led by Dr. Liang-ming LEE, Vice Superintendent of Wan-Fan Hospital and consisting of 3 licensed Ophthalmologists, 2 nurses and 1 ICDF liaison, the Mission will be conducting medical services focusing on “cataract” surgery in Majuro during their stay in the Marshall Islands.
Also, the RMI Ministry of Health, Majuro Hospital and the Medical Mission will jointly organize a “Post-Operation Outpatient Clinic of Cataract Surgery and Healthcare Workshop” at Melele Room, Marshall Islands Resort (MIR) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on March 22.
